Croatia Beaches

The one thing you have to do when traveling is to visit one of many of Croatia beaches. These beaches are unlike any other setting, as they will offer you a cool, calm, Caribbean feeling. There are many beaches to choose from but let us focus on two islands that I believe you will enjoy. Two of the beaches that I will discuss are accessible from Dalmatia. The first island that I would like to talk about is Hvar Island.

Hvar Island

This travel spot if definitely a must see spotif you want to see the best of Croatia beaches. The island is well known around
Europe to be one of the hottest tourist destinations. Sunshine can be seen almost 365 days a year and the beaches offer some of the clearest waters in Europe. The island is most easily accessed from split via a ferry. If you find yourself traveling during the summer, a bus will pick you up and take you to Hvar town. When visiting this destination you will be indulged with medieval style architecture and old town feel. I recommend going to the Church of St Marko, which was actually destroyed by the Turkish military in the 16th century.

Accommodations in Hvar are very expensive but if you travel during the right season (i.e. colder seasons) then you could find a hotel in the range of 100-350 Kuna. To save you the most money, it is best to always book far in advance as showing up without reservations will cost you an considerably a lot more. If you want to stay in a hostel, there is a place called Jagoda & Ante Bracanovic Guesthouse. This place is filled with friendly faces and lively atmospheres that make you feel right at home. There is another hostel you could stay in and called the Green Lizard Hostel. This hostel is privately owned with double and private rooms and shared facilities and is one of the few that offer these amenities.

Koreula Island

A second option for you if you plan to visit croatia beaches and stay near the beach is Koreula Island. This island has many coves and an amazing old town. There are many water activities that you could participate in but the vast majority of tourists prefer swimming. This is because the island has many quiet coves and secluded beaches that make you feel as if you have discovered a one true paradise. The specific town of Koreula is located on the northeastern side of the island. As you walk through the town, you will notice the huge influence of Italian heritage as the island was once controlled by Venice in the 18th century.

Accommodations on this island are very overpriced but you will be able to find privately ran hostels that will not put as much of a strain on your wallet. One of the hostels that I recommend staying in is called the One Love Hostel. I recommend this particular place because it has no curfew, no lockouts, and best of all it offers what seems like 24hrs of parties and fun. The bus station is located not too far away, so accessing the rest of the island will be easy.

Travel Tip

Keep in mind that traveling to any island in Europe will cost you more than you may think. The fact that it is an island itself already raises the price. If you stay in a hostel or guesthouse and travel during an off season, you will find you’ll save literally hundreds of dollars on your vacation.
