Croatia Tourism
Croatia Tourism rivals some of the best travel destinations that travels could travel too. I like to think of Croatia as the new French Riviera as it has sights that rival many of Europe’s top destinations. The country will offer you over 5000 kilometers of coastline wingding around countless bays and many islands, which can be accessed from many points on the coastlines.
Welcome To Croatia
Croatia Tourism rivals some of the best travel destinations that travels could travel too. I like to think of Croatia as the new French Riviera as it has sights that rival many of Europe’s top destinations. The country will offer you over 5000 kilometers of coastline wingding around countless bays and many islands, which can be accessed from many points on the coastlines. You are almost guaranteed to find your own paradise in this wonderful country If you plan to travel to Croatia, I want to point out that the pride and joy of this country is the city of Dubrovnik, which offers many beautiful islands that rival some of the world’s top beach destinations. You will find an abundance of Italian food, language and culture in this country and this is due in part to the countries’ strong Italian influence.
Croatia Accomodations
If you plan to stay in Croatia, you will definitely love the countless amounts of accommodations along the coast. However, expect prices to match that beautiful view that you are looking for. The Croatians base there prices off of different seasons. I found the months of October to April to be some of cheapest prices you could expect to pay. The months of June to September offer mid prices and July to August will have the highest prices that you will pay. Hostel accommodations are relatively cheap and there is an abundance of hostels to choose from. The Croatian Youth Hostel Association is a great price to look for prices as the prices change during different seasons. If you plan to stay in a hotel, you will find a vast amount of them spread amongst Croatia. Many of the hotels are three to five stars with a few here and there being one to three stars. If you are traveling from the U.S. or Europe, you will not need a visa for a stay of less than 90 days.
Activities
Along with Croatia Tourism, Croatia offers some of the finest water activities around. I recommend you take a trip to the sea and try out scuba diving. Croatia offers some of the best cave diving around with an occasional shipwreck for you to explore. The abundance of sea life will leave you speechless and the coral reefs are a sight that is simply amazing. I recommend if you decide to dive to go through a dive center, which will take care of a lot of paperwork that is involved with diving exhibitions.
Getting Around
In regards to Croatia tourism, Croatia has many transportation options. There are many ways to get around the country and here I will list a couple.
Bus
If you plan to catch a bus at a local bus station, you will have to pay at the front office. You can buy a ticket from a cash collector on any bus that arrives from anywhere outside of Croatia.
Boat
One of the nicer things about Croatia is the many islands that are available for your viewing pleasures. Many ferries’ run along the coast of Croatia and stop at many of the popular tourist destinations. You will need to book in far in advance if you plan to take a ferry but if it’s a last minute idea, you can also purchase tickets from an office. A normal ticket price from Rijeka to Dubrovnik will cost you about 25 Euro’s in the high peak tourist season.
Cars
If you plan to rent a car in Croatia, you will need to have Green Card insurance to go into Croatia. Many of the popular car rental services are offered in Croatia like Avis and Budget to suite your rental car needs.
Trams
There is a tram system that runs in Croatia as well as buses that run throughout the country. Prices will vary so be sure to bring extra funds with you.
Train
Train travel tends to be a lot cheaper than buses and offer are more comfortable although, they are a lot slower. To save the most money, it is recommended that you reserve a seat in the 2nd class.
Sights To See
Croatia rourism has many sights for tourist to enjoy but here are a few that you should definitely see when you visit this beautiful country
St. Marks Church: This church has beautiful colored painted-tile roofs and inside you will find works of art from Ivan Mestrovic, which was Croatia’s most famous sculptor.
Mestrovic Studio: Here you will find hundreds of sculptures, paintings, and furniture created by the artist Ivan Mestrovic.
Business Hours
Businesses in Croatia are normally prompt on opening and closing. As you move more towards the coastline, you will find that many businesses close at different times on different days. I think the relaxed atmosphere has to do with this. You can expect many shops to close at or around noon for a break and then reopen at or around 4PM. Restaurants are operated from noon to midnight every day. Bars and clubs open from 9PM-2AM, sometimes later on the coast. Shops are open from 8AM-7PM Monday to Friday.
