Looking for castle's??? Well while traveling to Germany you will encounter many of Germany castles. Most castles that are found in Germany are spread apart. But going to each and everyone is well worth the travel.

Germany casltes go from the fortresses in the Alps to the shores along the river Rhine, you find an abundance of castles famous and interesting castles in Germany. Many different types of castles will be found throughout your travels from the Renaissance to Baroque to even Roman influenced castles. All in all no two caslte's in Germany from Bavaria to the Rhine look the same. The most famous castles where built by King Ludwig the second who was the Bavarian king some centuries ago. The king had ambitions to build castle's that no other country had ever built before pushing the design elements of the castle's to the limits. These represent the best of Germany castles. Close to the small town of Eisenach, you'll find in your travels one of Germany's oldest castles which is called, Wartburg. It was built in 1067 AD and a legend follows stating that the creation was sparked by a German who fascinated by the scenic views the Alps had to offer so he decided to build a castle on that spot. The castle held many festivitivies throughout its time. It also played an important role in the protestant reformations in the early periods. The world famous Martin Luther was sent to the castle was sent to the castle as punishment. He worked on translating the New bible testament into German and when I visited the castle, the very same desk with note's is still in the castle today. Wartburg attracts thousands of visitors each year and this is one castle I recommend you travel too. The pictures on this page are from Burnkastle which is located in Burnkastles Keus Germany. The castle was created in the 13th century and overlook burnkastel and all of its wine vineyards. The castle was built in 1277 and legend has it that it was accidentaly sent on fire in 1692. If you plan on walking to the castle bring lot's of water and good walking shoe's as the castle is nestled high up on a mountain side. A bus runs almost every hour if you don't feel like making the hike.
