Germany food traditionally consists of dishes like dumplings, braut Wurst, pastries, and beer. This is traditional foods of what make's Germany food so great. Now many of you may be thinking that this food may not be the healthiest of choices but
in reality, many German cuisines are made with healthy eaters in mind. Many of the chefs that come come to Germany are trained in different countries. Many different type's of cuisines can be found in Germany, most of which are made in different countries. These dishes include potatoes, beget, beef, soups, a variety of salads, and beets.Many Germans prefer to have filling meals that include heavy meats such as pork, beef, and sausage. It was quoted that the average person in Germany will eat 41 killograms of meat a year. Most of these meats are accompanied by potatoe's or french fries. There are hundreds of different types of sausages in Germany and let me tell you, their is a sausage for everyone.
Traditionally many Germans eat bread, toast, with butter and coffee for breakfast. Eggs and coffee are also eaten during this time. Deli meats are also added to the breads such as salami and ham and a wide variety of cheeses as well. When you travel to Germany, you will encounter many brotchen (bread) shops. Its recommend that you try this bread as its baked fresh everyday.
The main meal of the day is at lunch and it eaten at noon. Dinners is Germany are smaller meals which resemble that of breakfast meals with breads, meats, sausages, and cheeses. Over the past years dining habits have changed in abundance and smaller meals are eaten in the afternoon while the big meals are eaten at dinner time.
Germany food also includes noodles and these noodles are alot thicker than you may be accustomed too. They are thicker than noodles used in traditional pasta salads. In the easter part of Germany, you will find more noodle orientated dishes that are availible for your liking. Potattoes and dumplings are also plentifull in this area as well. Potatoes are mosty served boiled and most of the time potatoes are served as french fries. When you order french fries you will be given a sauce, which is actually sour cream. And this is very tasty.
A wide variety of German cakes and German deserts are prepared throughout Germany. Most of these deserts and cakes are served with fresh fruits. You will find apples, strawberries, and cherries amongst many German cakes and German deserts. One of the most very well know German cakes is called black forest cake and this cake is delicious. It can be made with a wide variety of fruits and is not as sweet as traditional american cakes. Germany deserts also include doughnuts. Most doughnuts in Germany are round balls with some type of filling inside of them. Another well known German desert is the German choclate cake which is layered with fresh choclate and normally is served with nuts on top and coconut frosting. It is important to note that not all german deserts or cakes are sweet.
The largest food that makes up the German diet is by the bread. The bread is normally eaten during breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner. Germans consume a large amount of bread a year as it plays very important role in thier diet. Bread is used as a side finger food or can be added as the main course with meats and cheeses added. When you travle to Germany and try Germany food, you will find most German's waiting in line for bread almost everyday.
