Paris France Travel Guide
Welcome to your very own personal Paris France travel guide. If there is any place that many tourist would love to go, it is the city of Paris the place of love, happiness, and fine cuisine. Of all the places I've been, I must say that this place is one of my favorites. But, if your trip is not well planned, the place of love could turn into the place of NIGHTMARES. Below, I will break down each part of my vacation giving you tips and tricks in order to ensure your Paris France travel is pleasant. You ready? More than likely you will arrive in via Charles De Gaulle International Airport. This airport is located about 20 to 30 minutes away from downtown. Most people choose to fly but, you could also drive or take the train. I've flown and taken the train, and let me tell you, flying is the best.
Welcome To Paris
If you plan to drive make sure you adhere to all speed limits posted, that include's traveling to the city of love, and driving within the city. Traveling from the airport can be done by means of bus, train, or taxi. I only recommend the bus or train due in part to they are garunteed. I'm not saying all taxi cab drivers are bad but, realistically, time's are tough and people need money. Some taxi's I've taken have put me in places other than where I NEEDED to go. Just be aware when taking a taxi when you Paris France travel. Trains cost 8 euro and up. Buses cost around the same. Here are the links that will help you save on your travels.

Paris Accommodations
As your Paris France travel guide, the first thing I would like to talk about is Lodging. Lodging in paris can be found through various different avenue's. I have stayed at many hotels and hostels in Paris. In my experience, the cheapest way to stay in paris is a hostel. Now when you think hostel, don't think of the movie. Hostels are a great way to save money and stay close the cities attractions. You can expect to be sharing a room with others or you can rent a room all to yourself. Hostels can accomodate as many as 15 people in one unit and provide the basics for your stay. Don't expect to get alot of accomodations that a regular hotel would offer. Hostel's have shared showers which means you share a group of showers with the people on your floor. Also if you rent a room, if you didn't rent whole room to yourself, you can get other travelers in the same room. Don't let this scare you. As your Paris travel guide, I urge you to take the time to ask questions. Sometime's they have insight into places you want to go. Also, make sure you read the hostel reviews, these are vital pieces of information to aid you in finding that perfect place to stay. If hostels don't sound like your place to stay, then of course I recommend hotels. They are sure fire ways of getting a private room and most of the time offer you primetime access to the citie's nearest attractions. All in all, these suggestions depend on your personal preference. Here are few places when planning your Paris France travel that you may want to look at:
Le Village Hostel: Here you will find a clean and tidy hostel that offers more than 20 rooms. The hostel offers shared showers and toilets. Also, kitchen facilities are available at the facility and there is no curfew which is found in a majority of hostels around Europe. The cost varies from 24-85 Euro’s a night depending on when you travel and what type of room that you may require.
Woodstock Hostel: Dorms in this hostel can accommodate upt to six people and you have to walk a little bit to get to the shower and toilets. There is a curfew here which goes into effect at 2AM. A kitchen and a couple other amenities are also offered at this establishment. The cost to stay at this hostel can cost anywhere from 18-48 Euro’s a night depending on when you travel and what room you may require.
Paris Sights To See
Now the fun part which is my favorite and the favorite of many Paris France travel guide, sights to see. Of coures the Eifel Tower is at the top of my list. I recommend going early so you could go to the top without much delay. If you plan of visiting and going to the top of the Eifel Tower in the afternoon, prepare to wait. I experienced a long line which took me a couple hours. The tower opens at 9AM and a ticket for me to go to the top was 11 euro or $13.55 in todays terms. Another site to visit is the Louvr which is definelty worth the trip see although I must note that the Mona Lisa is not as big as I'd thought it would be. Try to get there early because you will have a hard time getting to see it. The site opens at 9AM so be there at 8:30AM and ticket prices are 9.50 Euro for a full day pass. They have multimedia guide for 6 Euro but I opted not to take this because pamplets are availible to show you what exactly your looking at and a brief history. Another and final thing that I recommend is the moulin rouge. This is meant for the older folks. Go there at night and you will not be disappointed. It's like a place you have never been before. I mainly go here for clubs. And now we lets take a look at getting around when you plan to Paris France travel.
Getting Around Paris
There are an abundance of ways to get around Paris. Here are just a few to aid you in your travels:
Bus
The ever so dependalbe bus system in Paris runs from the early morning to about 12AM the next day. And this goes from Monday to Saturday. You will find discounted rates if you ride on buses on Sunday. Many of the bus systems depart and arrive to many of the citie's most saught after destinations.
Taxi
You will notice when traveling in a taxi in Paris that a majority of the drivers drive as if there are no rules. I counted many close calls along my travels and often time's wondered if walking would have been a better option. But the bottom line is, taxi's are the most efficient means of transportation in Paris. You will find that in the inner city, you will be charged .82 Euro cents a kilometer and this goes from 5AM to 10PM. I want to point out that if you plan to put your luggage in the taxi, the first piece of luggage is free. Any other pieces will cost an extra 1 Euro per 5 kilograms.
Paris Cuisine
As your Paris France travel guide, it would be a crime if I didn't talk about what the city of love is well known for which is Cheese, Cheese, and Cheese. When in Paris, I advise you try some cheese. I explored many establishments that offered some of the best and worst cheeses I have ever had. It's hard to give you a great place to eat because there are so many. I will say that the resturaunts directly around the Eifel Tower offer the best cuisine that I had.
Paris is a great place to visit. I enjoyed my stay and I hope I have give you some insight to aid you in planning your future visit.
