Travel Bulgaria

Travel Bulgaria and save in the process??? How is this possible especially on a budget???? Well, believe or not if your planning your vacation in Bulgaria be prepared to spend alot less than you think. Bulgaris is a truley amazing place which offers alot of things to do for tourists. I invite you to join me as we take a look at visiting Bulgaria, and see how you could travel Europe cheap and in style. When I traveled to Bulgaria the first thing I noticed is that they have not implemented the full use of the european union's euro. The currency that they currently use if the bulgarian lev which in today's exchange rate would be .73 U.S. cents would buy you one lev. The difference is very noticable when you are purchasing items on your travels. Bulgaria can be compared to California weather due to the black sea and the onshore flow although in the summer it could get really hot.

The picture above was taking from an aparment complex and it shows a fairly large city where I did my travel's in called Stara Zagora. Here you will find a rich culture that is on the brink of tranforming over from the communist area. The people here are very kind and they appreciate tourists trying to learn the bulgarian language. This city offers alot of things to do and the Bulgarians are very family oriented. I will say that if you are planning to travel Bulgaria, be prepared to encounter alot of smokers.

When traveling to Bulgaria, you will more than likey land in the countries capitol of Sofia. I invite you to read my page Discount Airfare Europe

to help you figure out what airline's you could choose from when traveling. When landing, you will notice that you will have to take a bus from the aircraft to the terminal. This is traditionally how European airports operate. Make sure to have some form of prearranged transportation before arriving at the airport to avoid confusion after departing the airport. When you arrive in the terminal, just like most European countries’, you will go through customs. I advise you have your passport readily available beforehand so you could pass through the line quicker. In addition, many people do not know this but you are required by law to be registered in Bulgaria while you are visiting. All that is required to do this is to report to the nearest police station and have an address and the person you are staying with present. If you plan to stay at a hotel on the coast or anywhere else, there is no need to do this as it is all done for you. I invite you to read below as I have compiled of travel Bulgaria tip's to aid you in your travels.

Travel Tips For Bulgaria

Therefore, now that you have a little background I have compiled a list of tips that I think you should use in order to help you plan your travels.

1. Bring good walking shoes; this is because in Bulgaria you will learn that the streets are not developed in some areas and you will find you are walking on uneven sidewalks.

2. Make sure to get your money exchanged in your host country; Bulgaria offers many exchange facilities but most charge an arm and a leg, "they call it a transaction fee", and you will end up losing more money.

3. Learn the language; this is what I recommend on all my places that I have visited. This does not mean becoming fluent but it help's when trying to get around town.

4. Keep an open mind; Bulgaria is still coming out of communism times and corruption is still high. A majority of things you will see in Bulgaria might be shocking to you and this is not necessarily in a bad way.

5. Only use certified public transportation; this is a no brainer but some people I know have not followed this tip. Make sure to take only properly marked taxicabs and buses when traveling.

6. Bring medication from home; Bulgaria has health clinics avail bible but the medication is different from what you may be accustomed to. I had allergies’ when I arrived and the medicine I bought from the store did nothing to help me.

So now that I have given you these tips I invite you to travel Bulgaria and see the sites. Bulgaria is one of the most beautiful countries’ I have traveled too and I have a place for it in my heart. If you plan to travel to this beautiful country, I know you will have an experience of a lifetime.
Thank you for visiting travel Bulgaria, be sure to take a look at Sofia, Bulgaria's capitol and enjoy even more savings.
