Travel To Estonia
Travel to Estonia? If there is one country in Europe that is up and coming in the tourist industry it is Estonia. When most people think of traveling to Estonia, they do not realize they will this tiny country has many things to offer. Some Europe’s most precise jewels and gothic churches can be found in this wonderful country. If you plan on to stay in Estonia, you will enjoy the beautiful deserted beaches and the abundance of the rocky coastlines. For a country that borders the Baltic Sea, this destination can pump out some of the coldest temperatures in Europe to include in the summer as well. The culture of Estonia is mixed with most people being of Estonian decent and the rest being Russian. Join me as I break down what you will experience while visiting Estonia and save money during you stay.
Estonia Accomodations
Estonia is a relatively small country and the amount of accommodations available to tourist is abundance. Finding a place to stay during you, vacation will not be a problem. The best part about accommodations is even the cheapest places to stay still offer a very clean and friendly atmosphere. You will not have to worry about accommodation cleanliness during your stay. If you plan to camp, which is by far the cheapest way to go, I want to point out that the campgrounds are open from May to September and they have permanent cabins that you could stay in. Pitching a tent is also an option at one of the many campgrounds as well. Keep in mind with camping that, you will have to share a shower and bathroom with other tourists camping as well. Camping will cost you around 60-500 Kroon depending on what options you may choose such as the cabin or pitching a tent. If you plan to stay in a hostel, I recommend looking at Hostel Alur. This establishment is not the liveliest place to stay but it’s clean and full of friendly people. Just like in many hostels around Europe, if you are a student and hold an International Student Identity card, you will get a 10-15% discount when booking your hostel. If you plan to say in a hostel, you could expect to pay roughly 200-275 Kroon for a dorm and 500-600 Kroon for a single room.
Getting Around
There are many ways to get around when you are traveling to Estonia. Below is a list of options that you will have when you arrive to this beautiful country.

Buses are the best option because they run more frequently and are faster than trains. They also cover many destinations that trains and other modes of transportation do not cover.
Cars
If you want to rent a car while you are in Estonia, you will have to get an international driver’s license. There are very few car rental services in this country and most are privately owned.
Bicycle
Estonia is a small country, which makes it a good candidate for bicycles. The country is relatively flat and the roads are in good condition. If you plan to ride a bicycle in Estonia beware, the local population are still integrating with tourist and they could be aggressive while driving on the roads. If you plan to ride, make sure it on a road where you could be seen.

KGB House: This is a cool free house to see. Here you will find, in the basement, an interrogation room where the KGB would interrogate potential suspects.
Estonia Activities
Some activities that that you may want to try while staying in Estonia are cross-country skiing and hiking. The skiing resorts do rent out ski equipment if you did not bring your own. I recommend going through a travel agency when planning your activities for the duration of your stay. They could provide you with a variety of activity tours based around Estonia.
