Europe Route Planner Tips
If you are looking for a Europe route planner or planning tips for your European vacation? Well, you have come to the right place. Planning is the most important part of any vacation. It could be the difference between world class trip or a money busting nightmare. I have traveled to many of places where I have had the best times and then, the WORST.The goal of this page is to give you a free route planner ideas for your european vacation and make sure you will travel prepared. First let me start off by giving you an example.
Example's Of BAD Travel Planning
I currenlty live in Europe and the process for an American furlough is almost exaclty the same for a European trip. I had a friend come visit me from California. He wanted to go to Paris. So I looked at plane tickets via websites, Ryanair.de, Germanwings.de, and so on.
While looking at the websites I just mentioned, I found trips for a two day trip to even a three day trip for the amount of, you ready for this, .25 euro cents. It's that cheap. The kicker to this is the taxes are added on, Germany has a tax of 19%...OUCH, so the tickets ended up being 35 Euro. Now as far as lodging was concerned, we ended up staying at a hotel that we found on that same website that was around $30 (the picture is at the top of the page). All in all, a paris trip planned for about $85 and a couple nights stay. Now for a bad example. That same month we booked a trip to Rome. We paid 85 Euro's for plane tickets which could have cost us only 20 Euro. We also were flown to an airport 30 kilometers away from Rome. And on top of all that, a taxi cab driver made 200 euro off of us because we didnt know our sorroundings. Case in point, investigate your sorroundings. It could be the difference between the best and the worst trip. I encourage you to read more on this route planner and see how you could plan your trip to be a success.
Before You Go
Health? Yes, your health is very important while traveling to Europe. You will not want to be touring with a runny nose or a stomach ache. Below I am going to break down some of what I and many others have experienced when traveling to Europe and what you could do to avoid becoming sick while you are staying in Europe.
The Plane
Believe it or not, most of you will suffer from what is known as jet lag. This is due in part to traveling through many time zones. You will feel fairly drowsy and dehydrated. That you will travel through when going to Europe. This is especially true when you’re traveling from the U.S. To help avoid jet lag, you want to make sure you adjust your sleep schedule before you get on the aircraft and also adjust your eating schedule. I found adjusting my sleep and eating schedule days before I traveled worked best. Also be sure to drink lots of water especially when you’re on the aircraft to avoid that terrible feeling of being dehydrated. There are some medications out there that supposedly help with jet lag but, I found adjusting sleep and eat schedule and drinking lots of water to work best.
Touring Europe
While you’re staying in Europe, keep in mind that you will be eating and drinking things that you may not be used to. Make sure you eat in small portions when trying something new to get used to what you’re eating. Also it is a good idea to pack some stomach medication from home just in case.
Medicine in Europe
You will be happy to know that most of the medicine that is offered at your local pharmacy is also offered in most of Europe. I say most of Europe because some countries’ such as Bulgaria do not offer the same types of medication found in the U.S. such as Tylenol. The best thing for you to do is make sure you pack some medication, at least one week’s worth, just so you will be prepared.
Health Care
The good thing about Europe is there is great healthcare
available for tourist just in case of emergencies. If you’re feeling sick and have no medication, a good thing to do is go and see the local pharmacist. They can offer over the counter medication that will help you feel better. Eastern Europe is still developing under the European Union and pharmacist can be hard to find. Make sure to pack medication if you plan on traveling to Eastern Europe just in case of an emergency.
Vaccinations
If you are planning to travel from the U.S., you will want to check the World Health Organization website to find out what vaccinations you will need for traveling to certain countries.
Here is a quick checklist for your travels
Pack at least one weeks’ worth of medication
Find out what vaccinations you will need
Drink lots of water on the plane
Adjust at least your sleep and eating schedule a week ahead
Tips
Here is the general list that I have come with over the years specifically for this route planner:
1. Develop- I don't care if you booked through a travel agencey or differnt route planner, they are there to make money off of you and show you the site as quickly as possible without you having any real time to explore. Although I do recommend some travel agencies, I recommend you ask them if you have time during the trip to go explore. I'm not personally a huge fan of the "Guided Tours" concept. Also, if you plan on traveling and driving outside the U.S., you will NEED to get your passport and international drivers license. Links to sites to aid you are listed below.
2. Ask- Your best source of information at the destination you want to travel too are the people that have already been there. Perferably in most recent times. Also, if you have any questions on destinations that I have traveled too, you are always welcome to email me and ask. That's what the site's for and that's what I created it for.:)
3. Investigate- Look at the detailed picture of your vacation for your route planner. Do you want to party or have a family vacation. This is key in the planning process because I once booked a family trip to Spain and found I was going to a party island.(I wasn't complaining though):)
4. Budget- Please whatever you do, establish the budget for your trip. Don't expect to go to Paris and live like a king for $20 dollars a day. Truth be told, times are changing, and with current economic times, you should remember that vendors are forced to raise prices just to keep there businesses afloat.
5. Have Fun- Simple and easy. Go out, explore, meet people, and enjoy your vacation.
